Why Saint Laurent’s LA Show Makes Us Hope Hedi Isn’t Going Anywhere

by Laura Lajiness Kaupke

Rumors may still be swirling around Hedi Slimane’s tenure at Saint Laurent, but the French fashion designer is continuing to turn out killer clothes for the house, as proved by his Fall/Winter 2016 show last night at the Palladium in Los Angeles. Showing “part one” of his womenswear collection alongside the men’s, it was a polished display of sequins, bold prints and opulent fabrics throughout—though not without a nod to the practical via high-waisted trousers, cropped jackets, leather boots and the like. Following his finale bow to a star-studded front row (Lady Gaga, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Kate Hudson, to name a few), it remains to be seen if Slimane will leave the French house—and fans!—high and dry or keep the cool kid intact. See four standout looks from the collection below.
