4 On-Trend Pieces Inspired By Pantone’s Newly Announced Color Of The Year

by Samantha McDonald

As the global color authority, Pantone knows a thing or two about the hues that influence us—from the clothes we wear to the way we decorate. So it should be no surprise next year when everything from cable-knit sweaters to your Keurig coffeemaker goes green. Say good-bye to Rose Quartz and Serenity—the 2017 color of the year is Greenery (officially 15-0343), described as a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring.”

We’ve already seen it on the runways at Pucci, Balenciaga and Michael Kors, but it’s said to go beyond aesthetics, providing “the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment,” according to Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman. The shade also symbolizes our connection to nature and the great outdoors, a fitting response to current ecological concerns. Here, a few of our favorite items to help you get ahead of the trend.
