The Fashion Conscious

by The Zoe Report

The month of April is synonymous with paying extra attention to our environment. Although this is a practice that we should constantly abide by, I fully support a yearly reminder of ways we can make our lives more environmentally gracious. In an effort to leave my own eco-chic footprint—a platformed one—on the world, I am revamping The Zoe Report this week to feature all fashionably conscious brands! First up: Lauren Pierce Atelier

As a winning example of a line that is bringing a conscious element to the fashion experience, Lauren Pierce Atelier is an inspiration for us all. Throughout the month of March, the brand’s designer, Lauren Bush, toured various Barneys New York locations with her line’s Atelier presentation to give customers insight to the brand with a truly cool shopping opportunity. Those who took part in the tour were prompted to select a vibrant fabric—each hand-dyed by women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa—and one of five chic dress silhouettes to match. Then, their selections were shipped to NYC to be custom-made, resulting in an overall meaningful and unique experience! If you missed the tour, not to worry, because ready-to-wear versions of these stunning dresses are now available at Barney’s New York for purchase! xoRZ
