Fashion shows are known to be a little well, abstract in comparison to what’s translated to real life, but that hardly stops designers from showcasing fantastical pieces each season. Case in point: Christopher Kane’s spring 2017 runway in which Crocs made a striking appearance. Yes, indeed—those rubbery foam clogs (we typically associate with medical professionals and/or gardening enthusiasts) came sauntering down the catwalk today during London Fashion Week, bedecked with glamorous gemstones from glittering pyrite to jagged cuts of jade. With more, erm, practical styles of footwear trending in fashion for some time from slides to sneakers (Ugg’s latest collab with Teva is a continued example), we’re left to wonder if Kane’s fashion-girl version is the next practical step towards comfortable-chic domination (pun intended).
