The Top Trends From Paris Fashion Week

Arguably the chicest city in the world, Paris’ fashion week consistently delivers the most directional collections of Fashion Month. There was a lot to keep up with this season, from Zoolander cameos to a certain dye job, so we’ve rounded up the key trends.

High-wattage leather and slick, shiny satin added a modern twist to classic silhouettes.

Sonia Rykiel, H&M, Saint Laurent

This rich fabric enjoyed a place in the spotlight this fashion week, and continued to take center stage in Paris. Opt for head-to-toe velvet à la Lanvin and Stella McCartney to make a regal statement, or dabble in the trend by layering a velvet waistcoat under a chunky cardigan as seen at Chanel.

Straying from the typical floral-on-floral print mixing tactic, designers instead paired tweeds and tartans with leopard prints and jacquards with abstract patterns. Basically anything goes, but here are a few simple formulas to try.

We love a smattering of sparkle as much as the next girl, but this is taking it to the next level. Intricate embroidery, delicate beading and tiered feathers brought black gowns into head-turning territory.
