Tuxedo dressing to me has always been one of the most iconic ways for a woman to dress. It brings androgynous dressing to the forefront in a very sexy and modern way that can’t be matched.
When you think of style icons like Catherine Deneuve, Diane Keaton or Bianca Jagger in a beautiful suit, you’re left with a powerful, striking message. That is why I constantly turn to a tuxedo or a tuxedo jumpsuit over a little black dress in both my personal wardrobe and as a stylist.
Every designer under the sun has hit the trend at one point or another – most notably Yves Saint Laurent, who set the bar for tuxedo dressing in the ‘60s – and I will always make them a focus in my own collections. A tuxedo defines cool, whether worn alone or broken up and mixed into every part of your wardrobe. To help illustrate the investment of a tux, my team and I put together five looks centered around tuxedo pieces currently in my collection.
My wish is that everyone will be inspired to join me in this #TuxRevolution! – Rachel Zoe
