For the style-obsessed, Scandinavians provide a wealth of inspiration. Channeling French-girl chic but adding their own minimalist twist, Danish fashion mavens in particular are asserting their dominance on the scene. Leading the pack is stylist, former blogger and shutterbug favorite Pernille Teisbaek, whose face you likely recognize thanks to her widespread Internet fame. Since leaving the blogosphere (though she still maintains her Instagram account), Pernille co-founded influencer-marketing start-up Social Zoo and launched her debut collection of jewelry, Afin Ateliér (which sells exclusively on Forward by Elyse Walker). To get the scoop on her new line and score some fall fashion tips, we caught up with the entrepreneur. Here, she talks about how she shops, her favorite pieces and how to nail the covetable Scandi cool-girl look.
Catching Up With Pernille Teisbaek
Her New Jewelry Collection, Afin Ateliér
"It's not my first time taking part in making a collection, but it's my first time in the jewelry world, which is something I've always been passionate about."
Her Favorite Pieces From The Debut Line
"My favorite is the Stingray ear stick [bottom right], which reminds me of Joan Collins in Dynasty. It has this '80s-glam feel that is still classic and subtle. My second favorite is the Bonnie necklace [left], which is a chunky piece. Style it over a turtleneck or with a simple tee and jeans. The third is the Ankle Candy chain [top right] that spices up any kind of shoe and creates a personal touch."
Her Shopping Philosophy
"I always know what I want before entering a shop, but sometimes you're in the mood for a quick fix and get spontaneous and end up buying your next favorite piece."
5 Things Every Woman Should Have In Her Closet
"A pair of worn-in jeans, a really nice classic bag that lasts forever, a pair of colorful pumps, an oversize blazer and some statement jewelry from Afin Ateliér."
3 Pieces To Invest In For Fall
"A pair of knee-high, heeled leather boots, a menswear blazer in a heavy wool and the '80s Stingray earring from Afin Ateliér."
