The Unexpected Shirt Trend You Need To Try

by Amy Lee

If feminine, floral style isn’t really your thing, we suggest picking up a western-style shirt as an alternative. Notably witnessed on the spring 2018 Calvin Klein runway, the distinct top with front flap pockets, sharp collar and buttons is a departure from spring’s usual lineup of sweet, girly silhouettes. Nothing is more western to us than a denim shirt and we found one at Zara that’s affordable and quite fun to style. Read on for our tips on how to wear the trend in three ways.

Howdy!

Complement the shirt's black piping detail and temper the western vibe with charcoal raw hem jeans. Sleek statement accessories like perspex mules, abstract, shapely earrings and net bag lend fashion-forward flair.

For an elevated look, pair the denim shirt next to polished checked pants and embossed leather flats. A shoulder saddle bag and cat-eye sunnies work as ladylike finishes.

We can't not talk about western style and a denim shirt without doing a full blue look. Make it cool and wearable by tucking the button-down into a flirty mini skirt. Complete with off-duty kicks, edgy spike hoops and a slate belt bag to throw over the body or sling on the waist. A true Kendall Jenner-inspired outfit, indeed.
