Monse: The Sarah Jessica Parker-Approved Brand To Know

by Celeste Hughey

Monse Maison hasn’t even launched yet and it’s already making big waves in the fashion world. The brainchild of Oscar de la Renta design alums Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, the line has already been spotted on stylish ladies Amal Clooney and Sarah Jessica Parker—who know a thing or two about looking flawless. The collection makes its debut this September at New York Fashion Week and you can be sure we’ll be watching. We caught up with the designers to learn more about the line and get a sneak peek at the dreamy design sketches.

On The Woman They Design For

"She gravitates towards bold color and feminine silhouettes and is adept at mixing classic pieces with her modern wardrobe. We design for women who are always confident in looking a little sexy."

On What They Learned From Oscar de la Renta

"Being at a company like Oscar de la Renta you learn to listen to many customers and how to make many kinds of people happy, not to mention work on a huge number of collections (400 pieces, 4 times a year, 2 bridal collections and 2 children's collections each year). We were well versed in that client and how she would wear the pieces. Now it's back to the drawing board which is a fun challenge. Plus we have more time to invest in individual pieces and really fine-tune our own aesthetic which is so exciting!"
