H&M’s Newest Designer Collaboration Is So Epic

by Laura Lajiness Kaupke

H&M designer collaborations always rank high in our book—affordable versions of high-fashion goods? Sign us up. The latest major label to join forces with the beloved Swedish high-street retailer is giving us all the feels: Erdem. Known for ultra-femme florals on everything from gowns to suits, the London-based brand is a celebrity and fashion insider favorite. We’re eternally obsessed with Erdem Moralioglu’s fantastical, romantic designs (ideal for a range of special occasions, from weddings to cocktail parties), making the idea of lower-priced interpretations of his signature aesthetic exhilarating, to say the least.

“I am so happy to collaborate with H&M, and to explore my work on a whole new scale, including a menswear collection, which I have never done before,” the designer says in a release about the project.

The collection will be brought to life by acclaimed filmmaker, Baz Luhrmann—now that’s epic. “For me, fashion is always about more than just clothing,” says Baz. “It is a form of expression—a standalone art form. I am excited to be collaborating with Erdem and H&M to reveal the story of this unique collection.” Says Erdem, “It’s such a thrill to work with Baz Luhrmann, one of the most important storytellers of our time.”

The collaboration is due out November 2, so mark your calendar for the #ErdemxH&M extravaganza. For now, get a taste via the preview film below.
