5 Must-Have Investments For Spring 2015

by Nicky Deam

The New Year can be daunting thanks to all those healthy-eating and fitness resolutions (don’t even get us started on Dryuary). So to streamline our wardrobe goals we caught up with Lucky Magazine’s Senior Associate Market Editor, Noelle Sciacca, to find out which 5 pieces she will be investing in for spring. Given that she spends her days checking out the cream of the fashion crop, you can trust that this is some seriously sage advice.

The Outerwear

"I've been in love with this Michael Lo Sordo trench coat since I saw it come down the runway at Sydney fashion week! The silhouette is classic but the color is fresh and fun for spring. Since early spring requires that you wear a jacket everyday, you might as well make a serious statement."

The Denim

"The age of the skinny jean is coming to an end, so stock your closet with new shapes like this cropped boyfriend or a denim culotte and remind your legs what it’s like to breathe."

The Fabric

"At first, the idea of suede for spring doesn't exactly make sense but trust me, you'll want to have a piece in your wardrobe this season. It's a great way to give a subtle nod to the popular '70s trend, either in a skirt like this Adam Lippes version, or with accessories."

The Footwear

"We all love a great pair of heels but no-one is sad to learn that the comfort shoe is here to stay. Since sneakers aren't just for the gym, buy a pair that you can wear with jeans and skirts. A simple white canvas style is easy to match with everything but if you're feeling adventurous, try this paint-spattered low-top."

The Silhouette

"There's something sexy and empowering about showing off your collar bones and shoulders but keeping everything else concealed. Satin fabrics are perfect for evening while a gauzy, bohemian style is great during the day. Consider this style the new hero piece for 2015."
