Autumn Fashion 2014: Leather’s New Look

2014 Adam Katz Sinding

Our black moto jacket will always be one of our go-to pieces, but this season has opened our eyes to leather’s endless possibilities. The classic material is everywhere and has never looked better, thanks to exciting new shades to unexpected silhouettes. Once mostly associated with edgy musicians and tough biker chicks, leather now comes in incarnations for everyone from uptown girls to bloggers on a budget and all the stylish ladies in between. We’ve sorted through some of our favorite pieces in every shape and price range. Warning: the following slideshow may cause the sudden urge to splurge.

Shearling

This distressed brown jacket looks fantastic with dark denim and ankle boots.

Snake Print

Break up an all black outfit with these snake-print shorts. Team with flat boots for a '60s vibe.

Pleated Perfection

A buttery leather rendered in sharp knife pleats adds edge to this feminine silhouette.

Wine Time

Up your leather leggings game with this slimming pair in an unexpected wine hue.

Sleek Midi

Add a crisp button-up and pumps to this leather midi skirt for a fashion-forward office look.

Shimmering Blue

Swap your little black dress for this high-octane mini. The basic silhouette and high neckline allow the shimmering cobalt shade to take center stage.

Blush

Truly a seasonless separate, this blush skirt works as well with a chunky cable knit sweater and boots as it does with a ribbed tank and sandals.

Slick Coat

Crunchy leaves underfoot, a hot coffee in hand and a cozy outfit topped with this burgundy leather coat are the recipe for a perfect fall day.

Flapper Fringe

We love the mini fringe on this delightfully affordable faux-leather shift.

Wide Leg

Trade your high-waisted trousers for this leather pair and add a simple tee or blouse and a bold necklace for a put-together, chic look with just the right amount of edge.
