Winter Wedding
Lisa,
Take comfort that you are not the only one facing this wardrobe dilemma; several TZR readers have written in with the same question! To ensure that you look totally elegant at your cousin’s nuptials—and all other formal fall-to-winter occasions—I have digitally pulled a few suitable options for you to consider.
Relying on my gut instinct, I am always drawn towards longer silhouettes when the temperatures start to drop. Maxi-style dresses achieve an unfussy, pulled-together look without requiring too much thought—I especially love floor-grazing frocks in jewel tones versus spring’s favored brights. Gryphon’s Belle Maxi Dress, Rebecca Taylor’s Sweet Rose Gown and Alexander Wang’s Washed Silk Dress are all flawless examples to check out. Of course, you can absolutely don a short number too, so long as you remember to throw on a thick pair of tights. Try Tibi’s Sequined Shift Dress —sequins are irresistible in the winter!—or Trina Turk’s Lowell Silk Dress for a glamorous getup.
Whether or not the wedding is indoors or outdoors, you will definitely need to bring a strong outerwear option. Go for something that will keep you cozy while bringing the fab factor to your ensemble at the same time. My faves? Parker’s Beaded Collar Jacket, ASOS’ Tux Blazer and 525 America’s Faux Chinchilla Jacket. Last, but certainly never least, is your accessories! Polish your attire off without overdoing it via a pair of Vera Wang Lavendar Label Zoey Platform Pumps, See by Chloe’s Cystal-embellished Clutch and Frangos’ Geometric Ring Rock. Last, but certainly not least, is your beauty look! Get pretty with Bobbi Brown’s Black Ruby Sparkle Eye Palette and Exude’s Cranberry Lipstick. Wedding bells are ringing and your outfit will be swinging! xoRZ
