It is always sad when a respected designer leaves a house arguably before his full impact could be felt. Although Alexander Wang’s tenure at Balenciaga has been brief (just shy of three years), he certainly embraced the codes of the storied brand through his youthful, modern lens. Celebrity supporters were of the forward-thinking clan (Sienna Miller, Rooney Mara and Julianne Moore to name a few), who breathed life into his often dramatic strapless, monochromatic and sparsely-embellished designs. Here, we celebrate some of our favorite looks with the knowledge that Wang will be returning to his own namesake line with even more force than before. With experience at a Parisian house under his belt, we can’t wait for the next chapter of this talented 31-year-old’s illustrious career.
Alexander's last show for the brand will be Spring 2016 to be held in Paris this fall.
