There is no denying that fashion is continuously evolving, but it is only natural for past trends to ease their way back into the spotlight, too. One of my current favorite catwalk comebacks is the overall silhouette. More specifically, the pairs created by Jean Paul Gaultier for spring! He took the infamous 1990s look and put an updated, edgy and versatile spin on it for an outcome that gives the jumpsuit a run for its money.

Among the many fashion-forward overalls that showed up on the runways this season—leather, suede and silk from Ralph Lauren, Chloé and Altuzarra—I am most attached to JPG’s urban take on the trend. With a baggy structure, barely there cutouts and conical bra bodice, you can make these overalls work in one of two ways: dressed up or toned down.
