by Megan Gustashaw

The fashion industry sometimes feels as if it’s just going in circles (another season of street-style roundups? Really?), but when you take a look back at all that happened this month, it’s actually quite impressive. From creative director shake-ups and technological breakthroughs to pop-culture happenings that will give the Internet endless fodder in the weeks and months to come (see: Zoolander 2 and the Kardashians), March 2015 alone had several groundbreaking and game-changing moments. Here, a recap of the most important goings-on.

A Preview Of The Apple Watch

Buzz around Apple's smartwatch has been building since 2014 when the tech company officially announced the launch. This month Apple shared even more details on the new fashion-meets-function accessory including the price points (up to $10K) and special features like a heart-rate sensor and a notifications feature that feels like a human touch.

The McQueen Exhibit Opens In London

When the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibit opened in New York in 2011, it broke all kinds of records. This month marked the exhibit's arrival in London at the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the star-studded reception and media attention proved the retrospective still makes just as much of an impact as it did several years ago when McQueen's unfortunate passing was still fresh in the public's mind.

Dolce & Gabbana Champions Some, Offends Others

Dolce & Gabbana's tribute to mothers on their Fall 2015 runway was incredibly moving and sweet. The fashion press ate it up and for good reason. Then the designer duo made a few controversial statements about the definition of family and the whole thing sort of fell apart. Too bad.

Loyal Marc by Marc Jacobs fans shed a tear this month when the brand announced they'd be folding the contemporary line into Marc Jacobs. Shortly thereafter Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier, Marc by Marc's chief designers, announced they were leaving the company to start their own label. As if that wasn't enough excitement for one month, Marc decided to finally join Instagram.

Peter Dundas Appointed Top Job At Roberto Cavalli

Of all of the designer moves announced during this past Fashion Month this was one of the biggest: Peter Dundas will return to Roberto Cavalli after more than 10 years designing for other brands including Pucci, where he has been creative director since 2008. Cue the colorful caftans and night-out dresses of your dreams.

Kanye Beats Out Chanel In Collection Views

From North's front-row antics to Kylie Jenner's appearance as a model in the show, there was plenty of buzz around Kanye West's New York Fashion Week presentation.
