How A Fashion Girl Does Vintage Watches

If you have always felt that watch-collecting is a more male-dominated fashion sport, you may change your mind once you set your eyes on the LA-based line laCalifornienne, started by husband-and-wife team Courtney Ormond and Leszek Garwacki. The duo take vintage Cartier Tank and Rolex watches, and re-imagine them with handmade leather bands (some adorned with stripes) and coordinating hand-painted dials. The colorways can be customized using laCalifornienne’s seasonal palette, or by choosing from one of the styles featured on the brand’s website, some of which remind us of the candy aisle (in the best possible way). This is how true fashion girls do vintage watches. Here, a few of the to-die-for styles we are dying to get on our wrists.

Making The Old New

The blue face of this vintage Rolex is a fun contrast to the hand-painted red stripe on the leather band.

The pink and green palette makes this timepiece perfectly preppy.

The custom blue pastel face of this Rolex, paired with the navy-and-white striped band, feels nautically chic.

The dark and bold palette of this Cartier Tank makes a statement on any wrist.

The simplicity of this watch makes it a true classic, but the pink type on the face adds a bit of playfulness.
