What It’s Like To Be A Designer In Paris

Jonathan Cohen has been quite a busy guy—from dressing of-the-moment stars such as Lupita Nyong’o and Uzo Aduba, collaborating with cult-followed swimwear line Marysia and spending time in Paris promoting his latest Spring 2016 collection, one could certainly consider the designer “plate full.” To sneak a peek into the latter of his activities, we tapped the young visionary to document a typical day in the life during his stay in France. From his go-to breakfast joint to after-hours engagements, peep what it’s like to be designer in Paris through Jonathan’s lens.

7:30AM: "Morning starts with a work breakfast at one of my favorite spots on St. Germain, Café de Flore."

9AM: "Enjoying a beautiful walk to the showroom. I find something special on every street in Paris."

9:15AM: "Arriving to set up the Jonathan Cohen showroom (located right by the beautiful Tuileries garden)."

3PM: "Spending the afternoon in buying appointments—here, I'm showing one of this season's top-selling dresses. I love meeting with our stores, it is one of my favorite parts of fashion week."

7PM: "Attending my friends Marcela and Melissa's SS16 presentation for their handbag line, M2Malletier, at the Helene Bailly Gallery."

7:45PM: "Had to stop for a selfie with my business partner Sarah Leff and talented writer/friend Ashley Simpson over the Seine."

9:30PM: "Dinner at one of the best steak frites joints in Paris, Le Relais De l'Entrecote. Seriously, it's amazing."

11:30PM: "Ran into my friend Anne at the A'maree's party wearing a Jonathan Cohen FW15 hand-painted brocade top!"

1AM: "A magical moment in the cab passing the Eiffel Tower on my way back to apartment! The perfect way to end the night."
