This London Fashion Week Diary Will Give You Serious FOMO

by Kristi Mikesky

While many of us were still catching our breath from New York Fashion Week, others were doing it all over again in London. The next best thing to actually attending the scene across the pond is tapping our fashionable friends to document their every move and report back with a photo diary that invokes equal parts awe and jealousy. This time, it was stylist and creative consultant Laurel Pantin who acted as our eyes and ears from LFW, and reminded us that feelings of FOMO can indeed be very real. Here, she shares an inside look at her fashionable week.

Day 1

"Day one of LFW is (predictably) rainy! My Union Jack umbrella is beyond cheesy, but it does make for nice photos. I'm wearing a coat from Asos, jeans from Levi's Made & Crafted, shoes from a London brand I love called Purified and a Chanel bag."

Day 1

"Coming back to London (from New York Fashion Week) and seeing all my invites was a little bit like Christmas, even though the colors looked like Easter."

Day 1

"I love the colors in these flowers! I snapped this from my favorite neighborhood coffee shop on Baker Street in Marylebone."

Day 1

"How cute is the Edeline Lee presentation?!"

Day 1

"I, along with most of London, am crazy about Molly Goddard. Her presentation this season had models making sandwiches, which was perfectly strange and great."

Day 2

"The finale at Mother of Pearl, one of my favorite London brands, in a really beautiful room at the Hotel Cafe Royal."

Day 2

"Ooooh, a sweaty greasy boy model at Julien Macdonald! Ok!"

Day 2

"I loved the Markus Lupfer presentation, but I especially loved the flower installation."

Day 2

"Holly Fulton finale! I'm super into ruffles."

Day 2

"I took a break and had lunch at Chiltern Firehouse, which is around the corner from my apartment. This salad was too pretty not to photograph!"

Day 2

"There was a Delorean outside the Nicholas Kirkwood party! My best buddy Emily and I couldn't resist taking a photo."

Day 2

"Emily and I often dress in matching clothes (usually inadvertently...usually) and today we were both in silver chrome shoes. Hers are Loeffler Randall and mine are Prada."

Day 3

"I was able to borrow a couple of Shrimps coats for LFW so Emily and I couldn't resist making a silly video in them. See what we made on my Instagram (@LaPantin)."

Day 3

"All my mermaid fantasies came true at the Sophia Webster presentation! Can I please have an oyster bed?"

Day 3

"London is so pretty, it's a treat to walk from show to show and get to see a lot of the city."

Day 3

"After a long day of shows I went to dinner at my favorite restaurant, Donostia in Marylebone. It's tapas, and this was round one of about nine dishes. The lamb and the waygu mini burgers are insane."

Day 4

"In the history of worst mistakes I've ever made during fashion week, showing up late to Burberry tops the list. Still, getting to hear Alison Moyet with a full orchestra playing live in Hyde Park while seeing the collection was a highlight of my career."

Day 4

"The view from the Burberry show of the Prince Albert Memorial."

Day 4

"The Belstaff presentation was so pretty and made me want to run directly to the beach."

Day 4

"Steaks, fries and Aperol Spritzes at the Wolseley! I love London."

Day 5

"Ashish is always one of my favorite shows every year—this one was so crazy and over the top, I can't handle how much I loved it! The models were skateboarding and throwing glitter, meanwhile I was freaking out and desperately struggling to keep myself from rushing the runway and throwing some glitter on myself. Immediately after the show, I went to Illamasqua and bought some sparkle dust for my eyes."

Day 5

"Roberta Einer is a young British designer I love—she just graduated this year (!!) and I can't wait to see what she does next. I'm dying to get my mitts on one of her jackets."

Day 5

"Once again at the Hotel Cafe Royalhello beautiful!"

Day 5

"Last show was Ryan Lo. (Rhyme!) All the shows today were weird, wonderful and full-on London fashion spectacles, and I really, really enjoyed them. Subtlety isn't my bag when it comes to fashion: I like bigger, shinier, more, more, more, so I closed out my LFW experience fully satisfied."

Day 5

"That's a wrap LFW! Until next time..."
