For the 2016 MET Gala (a.k.a. the Superbowl of fashion), Vogue and the Costume Institute is looking to the future. The recently announced theme of the much-anticipated exhibit, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, will be celebrating everything tech and will reportedly showcase more than 100 pieces of hand-made and machine-made fashion, highlighting how much technology actually plays a part in the design process. Other important facts to know: Apple is sponsoring the event, which couldn’t be more appropriate, and Taylor Swift is one of this year’s esteemed co-chairs. (Maybe this played a role in their burying the Apple Music hatchet?) With this news, we expect to see Chanel’s light-up sandals galore, bedazzled apple watches and hopefully a virtual reality livestream of the red carpet. The looks on the long list of A-list celebs in attendance are sure to be greater than anything we could possibly imagine. Katy Perry may want to upgrade her LED dress from the 2010 MET gala.
