In more than 30 seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, there has never been an African-American lead on the show. That is apparently set to change, if information leaked by a blogger and confirmed by a Variety source is to be believed. Both allege that current contestant and fan favorite Rachel Lindsay will be the newest Bachelorette, with a formal announcement coming tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! This is major news given that the franchise has been under fire for lack of diversity since its inception, and we hope it’s true because it’s long overdue and we love Rachel.
