Zara’s Homage To Pretty Woman And ‘That’ Polka Dot Dress

While we’ve occasionally questioned Pretty Woman’s underlying message, as fashion editors we love the film’s iconic ’90s costumes (yes, even the over-the-knee boots) and gratifying shopping montage. High street retailer Zara seems to agree with us there; they recreated one of the most memorable looks in the film—the brown polka dot dress Roberts’ character Vivian wears to a polo match—in their summer collection. Or at least, that’s how we choose to see it. How often do you come across a brown and white polka dot sundress, anyway? Here, the party-ready number that caught our eye and how to recreate the complete outfit in a modern way.

The Polka Dot Dress

Zara, $60.

Zara's update on this iconic dress reflects the more casual, on-the-go style of today's polo match-bound girl.

The Demure White Heel

Miu Miu, $795.

These bow-front mules are a cool-girl update to the casual heels worn by Roberts in the cult-classic film.

The Brown Leather Add-On

Loeffler Randall, $395.

Instead of cinching this dress at the waist, try breaking up the look with an on-trend mini bag in a sumptuous cognac shade.

The Elegant Earrings

Etro, $265.

You can ditch the hat and gloves from the original costume but hold onto the minimalist earrings, which add a bit of sophistication to the look.

The Full Brows

Bobbi Brown, $48.

Fake Robert's full brows with this handy shadow kit. If you ask us, that never-been-plucked look just doesn't go out of style.
