The Surprising Change That Happened At DVF

by Laura Lajiness Kaupke

A beacon of bold, feminine fashion, Diane von Furstenberg announced today that designer Jonathan Saunders has joined her company as chief creative officer. We’d love to have seen DVF—the wrap-dress pioneer known for deeply connecting with women and celebrating female empowerment through fearless, alluring designs—appoint a female to the role.

“Jonathan’s extraordinary passion for colors and prints, his effortless designs and his desire to make women feel beautiful make him the perfect creative force to lead DVF into the future,” said von Furstenberg in a statement. “I could not have found a cooler, more intelligent designer and I cannot wait to watch him shine as our chief creative officer.”

While the Scot has massive shoes to fill in his new role, we’re sure he’ll bring the iconic design house into uncharted—and likely brilliant—territory as the company continues to evolve and embrace a new age of consumers.
