This Is Why Women Are Wearing White To Vote

We’ve already seen the Pantsuits for President pins and Nasty Woman merch, but tomorrow for Election Day, Hillary Clinton supporters will be dressed in white to celebrate her campaign’s historic nature. The hashtag #WearAllWhiteToVote has been making rounds on Facebook and Twitter, and the story behind this sartorial crusade is actually rooted in history. When Hillary accepted the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in July, she appeared in an all-white Ralph Lauren pantsuit in honor of the women’s suffragette movement in the early 1900s. (Members of the National Women’s Party wore uniforms in white, purple and gold.) Now that’s one way to show you’re #WithHer.
