A Woman Will Soon Be The Face Of The $20 Bill

It’s a big day for the ladies: The US Treasury confirmed they’re replacing Andrew Jackson’s face on the $20 bill with that of Harriet Tubman. Furthermore, it’s expected that prominent female activists and leaders will also begin to appear on the back of $10 bills. The new $10 bill design is set to enter circulation by 2020 (the time frame of the $20 is still undetermined), the same year women’s suffrage and the 19th amendment will celebrate its centennial (on August 18th, to be exact). This new development is a huge step forward for womankind, as it’ll be the first time a female appears on US paper currency in over 100 years. Major high-five to the Treasury for this milestone occasion.
