After a vitriolic 17 months of campaigning, Donald J. Trump has emerged the victor in this presidential-level game of American politics, defeating Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton with 289 reported electoral college votes. He’s vowed to put his opponent in jail if elected. He’s promised to sue all the women who accused him of sexual assault. And he’s pledged that his first 100 days in office will see the deportation of undocumented immigrants. But the American people have spoken, and in the name of democracy we will all move forward with this decision.
