Blake Lively And Amy Schumer Are Not OK With This Magazine Cover

Last week, an image of the cover of Girls’ Life went viral on social media for all the wrong reasons. The teen magazine was pictured alongside a copy of Boys’ Life, with the former urging readers to get their “dream hair” and the latter to “explore your future.” While we understand the value of offering style advice, the disparity between these topics was a blast to gender stereotypes, and Blake Lively and Amy Schumer are not having any of it.

The comedian took to Instagram, with a simple caption: “No.” Then Blake followed up with a repost, saying “Wow. @amyschumer I second that emotion. Ladies, let’s not let this happen anymore…” The image first grabbed headlines when two parents shared Facebook posts about the different societal expectations for girls and boys. It’s about time for a change.
