A Cool New Trick To Achieve Your Best Topknot

Forever on a quest to nail the perfect topknot, we’re always game to try a variation of the tried-and-true style (we won’t say “no” to anything that lends a little je ne sais quoi to our look). Enter TONI&GUY celebrity stylist Christian Wood, who created a double topknot on Tomorrowland star Britt Robertson for the film’s premiere at Disneyland. Immediately taken by Britt’s perfectly undone hairstyle punctuated by a bright red lip (created by her makeup artist Georgie Eisdell), we love the added interest when she turned to the side to reveal the “stacked” effect of the topknot. Here, find out the exact products and techniques used to achieve Britt’s fun look so you can steal her glam routine for yourself.

Get The Look: Double Topknot

To achieve Britt's double topknot, prep the hair with TONI&GUY's volume plumping whip when wet, and blow dry with a round brush. Once dry, create two ponytails at the back of the head and secure with elastics. Add texture to the ponytails with a generous helping of salt spray. Coil each ponytail into two topknots and secure with pins, then tease to create dimension and lend an "undone" feel to the look. Finish with a medium-hold hairspray to keep the style in tact.

Get The Look: Makeup

To recreate Britt's makeup, prep the skin with La Mer moisturizing lotion and Kiehl's micro-blur cream to create a perfect base for makeup. Even out the skin with Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, then highlight the under-eye area with Dior Skinflash Radiance Booster pen, and finish with La Mer powder to set. To create dimension, use Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Medium to lightly contour the forehead, cheekbones and jawline. Groom the brows with Tom Ford Brow Sculptor, extending the shape slightly to open up the eyes. Forgo eyeshadow and instead pat a bit of bronzer into the crease of the eye for a natural contour. Finish with two coats of YSL waterproof mascara. Add a pinch of color to the cheeks with NARS powder blush in Sex Appeal, and finish the look with a bright, statement lip using MAC pigment in Red.
