West Hollywood’s upscale beauty boutique Violet Grey was the place to be last night, where actors, models and editors all came together to honor the new issue of harper by Harper’s Bazaar, anchored by the one-and-only Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. While partygoers—including our own EIC—sipped Champagne and drooled over the array of luxury cosmetics, we snuck away to ask the supermodel hostess about her primping priorities. So if you want to look a little more like Rosie HW (don’t we all?), turn the page and take notes!

Create A Skincare Routine

"I’m traveling all the time so for me the most important thing is that I have a really good skincare regime I can keep up. I’m really loyal to a brand called iS Clinical. I use their Cleansing Complex, Active Serum (which is a life-changing product) and Hyrdra-Cool Moisturizer. Shani Darden’s Retinol Reform is brilliant for getting rid of fine lines, dark spots and acne scars. It’s a product everybody should have."

Have A Deep Clean Ritual

"I’m a big fan of Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads when traveling. I really see the difference when I use them on my skin. They are gentle but strong enough that you can use them every day and see a difference. They're great for deep cleaning and removing any impurities or dirt off your skin.”

Make Your Manis Nude

“I’m the most boring person when it comes to nails. I always have a nude on my hands. One of my favorite colors is She’s Not Just A Pretty Face by Essie. No pun intended. It’s a slightly pink nude, but it’s completely opaque. I’m often on shoots where I’m changing clothes all the time, so I don’t want my nails to get in the way of what I’m wearing."

But Be Playful With Your Pedi

"In the summer, I’ll go to a hot red or a coral on my toes...when I have tan feet."

Less Is More When You're Off Duty

"Gone are the days of being able to walk out of the house without makeup on. But I like to keep things really simple and easy on my days off because I wear so much when I’m at work. I usually just wear a very simple tinted moisturizer, like Laura Mercier, with some powder—a good bronzer—and a little flush of blush on the apples of my cheeks. During the day I wear a little bit of brown mascara, and that’s it."

Eyebrows Are Everything

"I always keep my brows groomed and fill them in. That’s my thing, I’m meticulous about my brows.”

Stay Shielded From The Sun

“I try and make sure I’m wearing SPF every day, especially living in LA. I have a sunscreen I like to use from Control Correctives which is SPF 30; I use it as a moisturizer during the day under my makeup."

You CAN Spray Tan Yourself

"I’m a big fan of self-tanning because I’m often shooting lingerie, and I always feel great with a little bit of color. We all know that basking in the sun is not good for our skin and for aging, so I’ve been loyal to spray tans for years. ModelCo is one of my favorite self-tanning products. I’m actually the face of the brand which comes in handy.

The product is really easy to use, like a spray-on—it’s kind of foolproof. Spray tanning is tricky but if you get a good product and spend 20 minutes concentrating on it, you can do it yourself. As long as there is good light in the bathroom and you always put a towel down. I’ve had a few orange-feet disasters.”
