Original post November 1, 2017: It's almost here: The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is less than a month away, and as the Angels pack their bags for Shanghai, one model must prepare for a major responsibility—that is, wearing the $2 million Fantasy Bra. This year's honor goes to Lais Ribeiro, the 27-year-old Brazilian beauty who officially earned her wings in 2015. In the cheeky announcement shoot for Vogue, she wears the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra designed exclusively for the brand by world-renowned jeweler Mouawad.
Hand-embellished with diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz, the cage-front decorative bra got its pairing with matching gold-leaf panties that Lais beautifully models in the video. (Fun fact: It took almost 350 hours to make the bra, which not only weighs in at more than 600 carats, but is adorned with nearly 6,000 precious gemstones—no small figure.) "You just feel so powerful wearing it, like all the hard work has paid off," she shared with Vogue on set at Pier 59 Studios. Beauty and humility—we'd say Victoria's Secret made the right choice.
