Olivia Culpo’s Oscars Dress Was A Statement For This Cause

by Samantha McDonald

With all the glamorous couture spotted at the 89th Academy Awards, we understandably had a hard time choosing our favorites from the evening’s best looks. But standing out from the star-studded crowd was fashion influencer Olivia Culpo, who appeared on the red carpet in a custom Marchesa gown that incorporated beading from Stella Artois‘ chalices. Not only did the dress dazzle on Hollywood’s most prestigious night, it’s also part of the brand’s Buy a Lady a Drink campaign, in which the purchase of one limited-edition Stella Artois Chalice helps Water.org provide five years of clean water to someone in the developing world. Making a powerful statement on the global water crisis, Olivia’s dress proves there certainly is a way to give back in style.

"It's important for our generation to use our voice to better the lives of others, and I'm proud to be partnering with Stella Artois and Water.org to shed light on such an important cause," Olivia said. "By raising awareness and inspiring others to help, we can unlock the potential of so many women around the world."

Inspired by the Stella Artois chalice, Marchesa's Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig designed three looks for the fashion influencer with the final choice unveiled on the red carpet.
