The NAACP Image Awards took place in Pasadena, California last night with a slew of A-list celebrities turning up and speaking out in a show of unity against the entertainment industry’s marginalizing of minorities. Memorable moments onstage included a spoof of NWA’s “Straight Outta Compton,” Alice Smith’s rendition of “Glory” in tribute to John Legend, and well-deserved wins by those otherwise overlooked this awards season like the film Straight Outta Compton, the actor Michael B. Jordan, and the show Black-ish. Before the stirring celebration began, however, attendees like Jada Pinkett Smith, Viola Davis, and Laverne Cox stunned with some of the loveliest looks of the season.
