1. Sleek Hair Is Always Chic

"I love when I can get my hair out of my face. The best is a simple ponytail or bun."

2. Use Pageant Tricks In Real Life

"When I was competing in Miss Universe and Miss USA, I always ate a banana before going onstage. It's been my trick to settle nerves since I was little. Bananas have a ton of potassium and vitamin B, which are said to calm the nervous system."

3. Don't Overdo It

"My mom always tells me less is more. She's a real hippie—she doesn't even use night cream!—and has absolutely no pores. I've learned that you don't want to overdo anything when it comes to skincare and makeup—a little can go a long way."

4. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

"The easiest and most effective beauty secret is to drink lots of water. I do this especially if I'm traveling—planes can be so dehydrating for the skin! Green tea is also amazing. It's a great pick-me-up during the day and it's filled with antioxidants that help combat free radicals and boost the immune system."

5. Don't Discount The Drugstore

"I don't think it's necessary to buy a crazy-expensive mascara. I love L'Oréal Voluminous in Carbon Black, and you can get it at the drugstore for less than $10."

6. Embrace Coffee For Silky-Smooth Skin

"I'm obsessed with coffee grounds lately. Combine them with coconut oil to make a body scrub—it leaves your skin feeling so soft, plus the caffeine and antioxidants tighten and firm."

7. DIY Your Way Pretty

"So many products we see in stores have harsh chemicals. I've been really into all-natural skincare remedies lately, especially DIY facial masks. Plus DIY is so fun! Invite your friends and make it a party."

8. Everything In Moderation

"I don't wash my face every day. I've learned that my skin is much healthier when I avoid overusing harsh cleansers and use water instead. This avoids stripping the skin of its natural oils."
