Reese Witherspoon’s Nighttime Routine Makes Us LOL

We’re counting down the days until next Sunday, when our eternal girl (ahem, woman!) crush Reese Witherspoon is set to walk the Emmys carpet and—possibly—accept a win for her performance in Big Little Lies. Until then, we’re living for an interview she recently did with MyDomaine , wherein she details a nightly ritual that hits very close to home. “I put on sweatpants [and] take off my bra—literally, taking off my bra is the first thing on my mind. I mean, is there any better feeling than taking off your bra the minute you get home?” No, Reese, there is not. There. Is. Not. The down-to-earth A-lister then went on to detail the rest of a typical night at home, and we are getting serious Norman Rockwell–painting vibes, with a 2017 twist. Apparently, her family—18-year-old Ava, 13-year-old Deacon and four-year-old Tennessee, along with her husband, Jim Toth—enjoys dinner together, followed by a game of Rummikub. This tableau had us feeling insecure about the perfection (or lack thereof) of our own lives until we heard what she does next, which is as relatable as her aversion to bras: “Everybody knows they have to leave me alone for 30 minutes because I read a book in the bath.” Currently, she’s reading Siracusa by Delia Ephron, which is recommendation enough for us. You may not be able to be Reese, but you can certainly copycat her relatable nightly routine. Preferably, tonight.
