Although Kate Middleton has certainly made a name for herself resurrecting royal heirlooms, her late mother-in-law Princess Diana was the OG of sentiment. From her treasured Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara to an engraved pendant bearing her son William's name, Diana kept her loved ones close when it came to her accessories. Now a sweet photo that dates back to her engagement shows her sporting a look that reportedly carried a similar heartfelt meaning.

In the 1981 image, Diana is seen at one of Charles' polo matches wearing two wristwatches, and while we'd like to think this was one of her avant-garde fashion statements, it turns out the act was a loving tribute to her then-fiancé. Although the gold timepiece was hers, the leather-strapped number belonged to Charles, and Diana wore it as a good-luck charm during his match. Say what you will of the two, but it's nice to remember a heartwarming moment between them.
