This year was arguably one of the most entertaining years in film and television history, from the remake of fantasy-adventure masterpiece The Jungle Book to the debut of sci-fi show Westworld. We were introduced to ensemble casts, breakout stars and A-list veterans—some of whom managed to stand out from the rest of Hollywood. And with IMDb revealing 2016’s most popular actors and actresses based on page views, now we know who made it to the top of the list: Margot Robbie.
Dethroning last year’s No. 1 Tom Hardy, the actress and fashion It girl added major blockbusters like Suicide Squad, The Legend of Tarzan and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot to her already-impressive filmography. Also rounding out the top three were Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke (a.k.a. Daenerys Targaryen, a.k.a. Mother of Dragons) and 12-year-old Millie Bobby Brown, who captured our hearts as Eleven on the cult-favorite Netflix show Stranger Things and topped the site’s list of breakout stars. Overall, eight of the ten were women, which just goes to show how female celebrities are shaking up today’s entertainment industry. Congratulations to all three!
