Karl Lagerfeld Weighs In On Kim Kardashian’s Robbery

by Samantha McDonald

As more terrifying details emerge about Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris, fans and celebrities have continued to speak out on social media in support of the reality TV star. But one Karl Lagerfeld refused to sugarcoat his take on the incident, even going so far as to victim-blame Kim for being “too public.”

“You cannot display your wealth then be surprised that some people want to share it,” the fashion designer told reporters after his Chanel show. His comments came after V Magazine posted an image of him on Instagram offering his sympathy in light of Kim’s harrowing ordeal.

Lagerfeld also underscored the importance of security. “If you’re that famous and you put all your jewelry on the net, you go to hotels where nobody can come near to the room,” he added. We’re just glad that Kim is safe.
