Kaia Gerber Is About To Walk Her First Fashion Show, And We’re Freaking Out

It’s been a long time coming, but Kaia Gerber is heading to New York City for her fashion week debut. That’s right, the 15-year-old model, who’s landed major beauty campaigns and fronted the covers of multiple fashion magazines, is finally hitting the runway in September—and her mother, veteran supermodel Cindy Crawford, couldn’t be prouder. “I’m chaperoning her,” Cindy tells WWD in a recent interview. “I’m not gonna be at every show, but I hope she understands how exhausting your first show season can be.”

It’s solid advice coming from the runway legend, who boasts more than 30 successful years in the modeling industry. Now, the mother of two is passing the baton to her daughter, but not before sharing words of wisdom: “My advice to her—and it would be the same if she was going off to college or taking a job in a clothing store—is be on time, be professional, don’t be a diva, get off your phone,” she adds. “You’re around these incredibly talented people, soak up information, listen, watch, keep your eyes open, be present and enjoy it.” Now if only we knew exactly which show she’ll be stealing the spotlight from—Marc Jacobs, perhaps?
