Julianne Moore Will Play Gloria Steinem In Her Next Film

She’s not one to shy away from political opinion, so it’s no surprise Julianne Moore is taking on a major women’s rights icon for her latest movie role—yes, we’re talking about the Gloria Steinem. The Oscar-winning actress is starring as the ’60s trailblazer in an eponymous biopic of her memoir, My Life on the Road, in which the former New York magazine columnist details the events that led to her become a champion of the feminist movement. It’s a coming-of-age story we’ve been waiting to see adapted for the big screen, and better yet director Julie Taymor of Frida fame will spearhead the project alongside playwright Sarah Ruhl for an all-female production. (Gloria herself has signed on as an executive producer!) While details of the film remain few and far between, we can already predict the nominations.
