Jennifer Lopez Proves That The Only Style Rules To Follow Are Your Own

by Erin Bunch

We’re not going to lie—the thought of wearing head-to-toe leather at any age has us feeling self-conscious. It’s a tough look to pull off if you’re not starring in a superhero-centric film, but Jennifer Lopez has once against proven that she has both the chutzpah and the body to do what the rest of us might not. She appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show wearing Zeynep Arçay’s Wrap Leather Bodysuit and High waisted Snake Print Leather Mini Skirt, both of which are from FW17, and looked fierce AF. At 47, the performer is defying stereotypes regarding age-based dressing, which should always be taken with a grain of salt and disregarded when appropriate based on your own personal style. J-Lo’s flawless execution of this outfit is definitely making us reconsider the all-leather look in our own wardrobes this spring. Another societal norm the singer and actress has recently bucked that has us inspired? She told Ellen that she met current beau Alex Rodriguez after approaching him and introducing herself—major confidence goals!

The cherry on top of the whole interview, however, was getting to see Lopez cuddle up to her twins, Max and Emma. They definitely have their mama’s looks if not yet her bravado—shy Max hid behind a chair while Emma sought shelter on J-Lo’s lap. Too cute, and so fun to see so many sides of this power woman in one interview!
