This Is Why Chrissy Teigen Locked Her Twitter Account

Twitter got a major sad face yesterday when everyone’s favorite social media queen took her account private. Chrissy Teigen—whose pro-diversity stance and reality-TV musings have garnered her nearly 3 million followers—admitted that she’s “not strong enough anymore” to deal with the Internet’s negative vibes. In a private tweet, she wrote, “It’s not haters or trolls or generally mean people. I just feel like I am absorbing bad sh*t 24/7. My body and mind cannot handle it anymore.”

Her decision came shortly after her commentary on last night’s vice-presidential debate. (Keep in mind that Chrissy is no stranger to using social media as a platform to advocate for important issues.) Now that her account is protected, only the model’s followers can view her tweets, which can’t be retweeted. Fingers crossed it’s only temporary, although we certainly don’t blame her.
