As if we expected anything less in celebration of her milestone birthday, Beyoncé came to play for her 35th, throwing herself a funky Soul Train–themed fete last night in NYC. After a surprise and delight appearance during Coldplay’s Saturday set at the Made In America festival in Philadelphia (and being photographed casually chatting it up with Bill Clinton), Bey invited her celeb squad (read: Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, Usher, Diddy, et al) to get their groove on in epic fashion—clad in ’70s sequins, bell bottoms and platforms galore. The announcement that Yonce will take a brief hiatus from the Formation world tour due to her doctor’s strict order for vocal rest didn’t stop the Queen from turning up with her crew for her big day.
