This Bride Served Up The Wedding Cake Of Your Dreams

@amirahkassem

We've seen a gilded 10-tier tower and heard of a near-royal confection that rang up over $3,000—but we think this elaborate sweet treat takes the wedding cake (110 of them to be specific—that's one for each guest). At Amirah Kassem's nuptials to Ross Harrow, the expense made sense considering the bride's profession—founder of NYC-based whimsical bakery Flour Shop. The couple, whose wedding was covered in Harper's Bazaar, exchanged their I do's at Punta Mita, where they dined and danced in a four-day fiesta in honor of the bride's Mexican heritage. Despite the presence of fire dancers, Amirah's Rminé gown and the groom's pink pineapple ensemble, it was the sheer number of cakes following the three-course dinner that was the centerpiece of the reception.

"As a cake person myself, I think each slice is as important visually as the cake itself," Amirah said, "so I worked closely with the pastry team at the St. Regis to create mini colorful wedding cakes [in addition to] our larger cake." As altogether gorgeous as the event was, we think it's safe to say all eyes were on the cake table.
