The famously nervous star has confirmed rumors that she will be headlining the Saturday night of this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Sandwiched between Muse and Coldplay (headlining Friday and Sunday nights respectively), the vocal powerhouse shocked fans by announcing the news on stage this evening at London’s O2 stadium. She has historically squashed any rumors, saying “I think I have made myself pretty clear on Glastonbury, the crowds are too big—I don’t know if I could do it”, but has clearly changed her tune (pun intended). The festival, synonymous with Kate Moss, rain boots and mud, will surely be all the better for having her, despite critics who think she is too mainstream. To them she counters: “I wanted to do it last year but my record wasn’t ready, and to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you’re more boring for moaning about me headlining.” Mic drop.
