This Powerful PSA Has A Message Everyone Needs To Hear

Tackling one of the most vital issues at the forefront of American society today, a host of celebrities have banded together to speak out on racism in a raw and powerful PSA, “23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are Black in America.” Beyoncé, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Zoë Kravitz and many more shed light on the horrifying and mundane ways in which black people have been unjustly murdered by police, following each harrowing fact with the name and image of the victim. While the video is emotional and heartbreaking to watch, it’s essential in understanding the harsh reality in which black lives are constantly being challenged in America for seemingly unjustifiable reasons, further proving the need for the US to work prudently to dismantle systematic racism.

“We demand radical transformation to heal the long history of systemic racism so that all Americans have the equal right to live and to pursue happiness,” says Alicia Keys at the end of the video, encouraging viewers to get involved with her organization We Are Here Movement, which aims to “build a kinder, safer and more just world for all.” “Go to WeAreHereMovement.com and tell President Obama and Congress that the time for change is now,” she says, and we couldn’t agree more.
