Thanks to the fall runways and our favorite beauty brands, it’s officially time to revisit glittery eye makeup. Rendered in burnished metallic shades that are far from juvenile and paired with luminous skin, slicked-back hair and pale pink lipstick the look is beyond glamorous (not to mention a great way to jazz up a basic low bun). Today Joey Maalouf demonstrates how to recreate the magic from start to finish.

1. Apply Foundation
Apply liquid foundation evenly allover the face and neck. For an easy contouring trick, use a slightly lighter color on the very top of the cheekbones and down the bridge of your nose.
2. Blend With A Sponge
Use a sponge to blend foundation evenly using a light dabbing motion.
3. Survey Skin
Survey skin for problem areas like acne spots or dark circles. Grab the appropriate products to conceal and finish the face.
4. Conceal Dark Circles
Dab concealer from the corners of the eyes, slightly donward, following the natural valley of your under-eye skin and blending evenly with a small brush or sponge.
5. Survey Skin
Finish with a few additional dabs or foundation or a general sweeping of the skin with a fresh sponge to make sure color is evenly blended and skin is luminous.
6. Apply Blush
A natural, soft blush color is key. Use a brush to lightly apply the color along the cheekbones and the apples of the cheeks for a warm glow.
7. Add Brown Shadow
Find a soft brown shadow without shimmer and softly apply with a brush from the lashline almost all the way up to the brows for a base of color.
8. Prep Hair With Mousse
Before adding color to your face, prep hair for a low, wet-look bun using mousse or hair oil throughout.
9. Part And Comb Hair
Part hair straight down the middle using a fine comb, then brush hair with a natural bristle brush so it's off of your face, smooth in texture and ready for styling.
10. Dust Lids With Shadow
Use your eye shadow brush to lightly sweep a shimmery metallic shadow allover lids, from the lashline up to the brows.
11. Add Loose Pigment
Intensify the color and add dramatic dimension by layering a loose pigment in a similar hue on top of lids using your finger.
12. Repeat On Other Side
13. Blend With A Brush
Go over the shadow and pigment with your eye shadow brush, blending the color and distributing it allover the lids.
14. Fake Eyeliner
Bring the shadow brush across bottom lids along the lashline to add a light shimmer in place of harsh eyeliner.
15. Add Gloss To Lids
To set the look, dab eye gloss or petroleum jelly lightly across lids for a cool sheen and a glam feel.
16. Apply Mascara
Lengthen, darken and separate lashes with a black, waterproof mascara on top and botttom lids.
17. Add A Contour
If needed, add a little bit of contour to lids using a dab of black or charcoal shadow in the outer corners of the eyes. Blend until subtly smoky using fingers.
18. Apply Lipstick
Opt for a soft lip color with a matte, opaque finish for a cool contrast with the glossy, shimmery lids.
The Final Look
To complete the look, pull hair into a low bun or looped ponytail using a small elastic and your hands to smooth down unwanted bumps.
Style The Look
Pair this sleek, sexy hair and makeup look with an equally edgy going-out ensemble like black leather pants, a white tuxedo jacket and a long pendant necklace.
