Let’s face it, everyone gets bored with their beauty routine. We were struck with major inspiration when we saw this hair and makeup combo from Rachel Zoe’s pre-fall 2016 collection. A little bit classic and a little boho, this fishtail-crown-red-lip duo is perfect for the office, date night and everything in between. Here’s how to get it.

The Skin

Give your winter skin a summery glow by hydrating with a nourishing face oil. Apply a primer with a gold tone to boost warmth in your complexion, then a sheer, natural-coverage foundation. Spot-treat with a full-coverage concealer. Use a light balm on the bridge of your nose, cheekbones and eyelids for a dewy pop. Lightly contour with taupe bronzer to add some color.

The Eyes

Apply a taupe cream eye shadow to the lids and under the bottom lash line with your finger. Fill in brows with a pencil and groom with a clear brow gel. Finish by curling lashes and swiping on a few coats of mascara.

The Lips

After hydrating lips with a moisturizing lip balm, apply a dark burgundy liquid lipstick with your finger to stain your pout. Layer with a brick-red lipstick, and finish with a raspberry lip crayon. Combining lip colors creates a unique shade and gives your look dimension.

The Hair

Prep blow-dried hair with texturizing spray and separate into 4 sections. Braid each section, then go over each with a flat iron. Once cooled, repeat the iron, then cool and release the braids for boho beach waves. Spritz again with texturizing spray.

Make a center part and section off a 3-inch wide piece on either side. Create a fishtail braid on each section and secure with a clear elastic. Starting at the base of the braid, pull both sides to loosen and widen the plaits. Cross both braids over to the opposite side and pin to secure.
