Summer Hair Inspo: How To Survive A Weekend In The Sun

by Stephanie Montes

Have a BBQ or day by the pool planned this weekend? Keep it chic with a party-ready, humidity-proof hairdo. From edgy braids to a faux bob, these hairstyles keep the hair out of your face without looking basic. Because there’s nothing worse than an out-of-control ’do on a super-hot day.

This fun and flirty style looks great on hair of all lengths. Separate a small front section of hair and tease to create lift. Do a French braid on both sides and tie it all into a loose bun.

Get the look of short hair without the commitment. Pull hair behind your shoulders and then beginning at the ends, roll until you reach the nape of the neck. Pin to secure.

Never underestimate the power of a sleek topknot. Pull wet hair into a high ponytail and tie with an elastic. Twist hair into a tight bun and pin to secure. Finish with a strong-hold hairspray.

Get the most out of your hair accessories by wearing multiple at once. Loosely roll hair vertically into a French twist and secure with bobby pins. Slide on a headband and clip in an oversize hair accessory for extra flair.

Braiding hair horizontally is edgy and unexpected. Starting at the front, part hair from ear to ear in a V shape and then create a French braid. Repeat in alternating directions until all hair is braided.

This look is polished without being boring. Part hair down the middle and do a French braid on either side. Roll the ends of the braids under and pin to secure.

You'll look like you're wearing your hair down—until you turn around. Pull hair behind your shoulders and starting halfway down, create a braid. Secure with a tiny rubber band.
