One of the most popular ingredients in eye cream is caffeine. It wakes up your eyes and hides unwanted signs of fatigue. So if it works this well an eye cream, think about how it would work on its own in its most concentrated form. It may sound odd, but caffeinated tea bags can have an equal (if not better) effect when placed upon the under-eye area. So how exactly does it work?
Take two bags of either green or black caffeinated tea and steep them in hot water for five minutes. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes. Drain any remaining tea out of the bags and place them on your under-eye area for 10 to 15 minutes, as you would with a regular face mask. You'll be left feeling refreshed and invigorated, and your eyes will look less tired. Plus, you're not wasting any tea—you can still drink the cup you brewed as you steeped the bags. It's simple, effective and most importantly, affordable.
