The Weirdest Nail Trend From New York Fashion Week

by Laura Lajiness Kaupke

We’re all for an experimental beauty trend once in a while, but a particular fuzzy nail look at New York Fashion Week truly threw us for a loop. Seen on the Libertine runway, the Fall/Winter 2016 collection was inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle’s Tarot Garden, showcasing whimsical designs, glam rock makeup by Too Cool for School and furry nails by CND—yep, fuzzy wuzzy style. By painting nails with a neutral base color, the wild look was achieved by adhering brown and white faux fur to nails with a high-gloss top coat. While the dramatic effect is admirable, it’s not exactly practical IRL. May we suggest this runway-inspired nail art instead?
